Last fall, the North Galiano Community Hall Association received $9,700 from Community Works Funds (CWF) towards building repairs and improvements to extend the life of the building and improve public safety. In January of 2021, the Association received a further $21,137 in CWF towards the installation of a heat pump and replacement of windows, which will increase energy efficiency, make the building more comfortable for residents, and reduce the Association’s Hydro expenses.

At the end of 2020, the Galiano Estates Improvement District received $15,000 in CWF towards waterworks upgrades and enhancements that will allow for water use monitoring, fairer billing, leak detection, providing built in back flow preventers, more accessible valves, and improve water conservation.
